Linoleic Acid

Linoleic Acid also known as cis-9,cis-12- Octadecadienoic acid is a di-unsaturated fatty acid.

It is an omega-6 fatty acid which belongs to a family of unsaturated fatty acids which have in common a final carbon–carbon double bond in the sixth bond from the methyl end of the fatty acid.

It is an essential fatty acid since it has to be acquired from external sources and cannot be synthesized by the body.

It is primarily present in vegetable oils such as sunflower, safflower, soybean, corn, and canola oils.
